Oven baked pears ~ Pera al forno

A simple dessert, breakfast or snack.

My very own recipe as follows (makes 4 servings),

2 Bosc pears

1 can Coconut milk (chilled)

a handful of toasted nut pieces of choice (almonds, pecans, walnuts, pine nuts, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds…)



  • Bake pears on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet or rimmed baking pan for 50 minutes at 350 degrees F.
  • Separate the solid from the liquid coconut milk and whip only the solid part with a few drops of vanilla to obtain a whipped cream.
  • Cut the pears in half lengthwise.
  • Serve the warm pear halves topped with coconut whipped cream a few toasted nuts, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

I toast my nut pieces in a small cast iron pan but any pan will do. They toast very quickly.

There are many types of pears to choose from Bosc and Williams are my favorite baked.
